Hi, I’m Karina Dandia

Karina About Pic.png

I’m a user experience/product designer with an engineering and machine learning background passionate about simplifying complex information systems through human-centered design.

I recently received a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction and Design from the University of California, Irvine in September 2021. I hold a Bachelor’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California.

During my engineering undergrad, I learned how to develop efficient and functional systems, but I wanted to take this further to design enjoyable, usable, and accessible products. My craving for a more creative field in which human needs were the primary consideration led to serendipitously discovering UX design as my career path in the Summer of 2020. I realized my previous passion projects, designing digital experiences for startups, directly translated to this exciting field. I am inspired by the power of design to transform user experiences and make technology more inclusive. My graduate capstone project with the American College of Real Estate Lawyers is focused on designing a user-friendly document management system for seniors.

My unique background allows me to analyze complex systems, synthesize data skillfully, and empathize with users to create meaningful experiences that address business goals.
